Thomas William Meyers

September 17, 1957 - July 27, 2024

Thomas William Meyers of Elkton, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on
July 27, 2024. He was 66 years old.

Thomas was born on September 17, 1957, in Norwood, Pennsylvania to the late Helen and
Charles Meyers. He spent his childhood in Norwood, eventually migrating to Superior,
Wisconsin and finally residing in Elkton, Maryland.

He attended college at the University of Wisconsin, Superior. He was also a military veteran,
serving in the U.S. Coast Guard while stationed on the USCGC Red Oak in Gloucester City,
New Jersey, along with Captain of the Port in Duluth, Minnesota. Tom was well respected in the
Environmental community, earning numerous safety awards. Tom spent most of his career
working at Batta Environmental as a project manager. He later retired in 2022 from One Source.
Tom possessed a Christian faith and shared it with others. He loved his many cats and had
more furry friends than he could count, his favorite being Elsa. He also loved the outdoors and
spent much of his time hiking, biking and playing basketball.

Tom is preceded in death by his beloved wife Karen, parents Helen and Charles Meyers and
son Joseph Meyers. He is survived by his brother David Meyers (Thomas and Elizabeth) and
sister Betsy Meyers Cawley (Rachel and Rebecca), his children Jamie, Jennie, Jackie and
Joshua and grandchildren, Amanda, Zachary, Brianna and Lucas.

Special thanks to Sarah Tabor, from Amedisys, who was Tom’s caregiver, but also became a
good friend.

At Tom’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Faithful Friends Society in
New Castle, Delaware.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall. Details will be released at a later date.
