Leonard Thomas “Tom” Brown

September 23, 1953 – February 2, 2025

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our father, Leonard Thomas Brown of Newark Delaware. On Sunday, February 2, 2025

Tom was born on September 23, 1953 in Wilmington Delaware to the late Minie Ameila Hayden and Homer Clarence Brown.  Tom is survived by his 3 daughters, Heather Taylor, Amy Rivera (Raul) and JoAnne Marcocci (Brian),11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; his brother Roy Brown and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was an amazing musician and artist.  His first “true” love was music.  He sang and played guitar and loved being on stage and in the spotlight.  He was in bands that played locally throughout the state and was often on the stage of The Stone Balloon.  One of his favorite places to play.  Any time he got out of work early, you could find him at any number of local bars with live music, where he would often be invited to join bands on stage to perform a song or two with them.

Tom proudly worked for Daimler Chrysler in Newark Delaware until he retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service in 2007.  Shortly after retirement, he began working for Berrodin Company, delivering auto parts where he continued to work until his passing.

Anyone who worked with and knew Tom always spoke of his innate leadership, his drive to stay busy, his abilities to sketch, draw and build, Tom was quite the jokester – with a contagious laugh.  He was always ready to give you a funny story, a joke OR a compliment to get a smile out of the ladies. Tom rode as often as he could, enjoying the open roads on his Harley Davidson motorcycles, often taking trips to the beach.

Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  We thank everyone for sharing in our sorrow and will cherish the memories shared amongst those who loved and cared for Tom over the years.  Tom’s long journey has come to an end.  Find comfort knowing his suffering is over and that peace has come.  His memory will live on in our hearts.
