Joyce Anita Gills
"Oopie"

Joyce Anita Gills, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away on September 28th, 2024. She was born in
West Virginia on January 20th, 1953, to Billie Jean Lee (née, Payne) and the late George Troy Lee, Jr.

Joyce was a woman of many interests she could often be found at home gardening or reading
her favorite books. She was passionate about studying the Bible, she even learned Hebrew to
help better her understanding of the Lord’s work. Along with the lord she loved her family and her animals.

She is survived by her daughter; Jimi Gail Cole (Bruce Gill), granddaughter; Kaitlyn Fay, great
grandchildren; Logan and Rylee Swift, mother; Billie Jean Lee (née, Payne), siblings; Jimmie
Gail Lee (Terry Cochran), Troy Lee (Christina), Niki Parsons (née, Lee) (Chuck), and several
nieces and nephews, friends and family. She is also survived by “King Willie” her beloved cat.

Along with her father she was preceded in death by her son; Robert Cole and her sisters;
Christina Lee and Rosemary Lee Parker. She is also preceded in death by her two cherished dogs Lincoln and Levi.

Joyce has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of life to honor Joyce will be held on Thursday, at 3:30PM, with a visitation
beginning at 2:00PM, at Sinking Springs Retreat Center, 843 Elk Forest Road, Elkton, MD 21921.
