Jo Ann Rinehart Simmons

August 22nd, 1942 - December 20th, 2023

Jo Ann Rinehart Simmons, 81 of Timonium, MD passed away, peacefully, Wednesday,
December 20th, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Baltimore on August 22,
1942, the eldest child of the late Joseph and Mary Rinehart.

After graduating from Eastern High School in 1960, she worked as a legal secretary until the
birth of her first son, Guy, then became a full-time homemaker. She returned to work in the
law field many years later, eventually leaving to work at the Maryland Property and Casualty
Insurance Guarantee Corporation (PCIGC). She worked there for over 30 years, making many
friends and mentoring many young people along the way until her retirement.
She loved music, dancing, especially country line dancing, and travel. One of her favorite
activities was her Thursday night bingo with her many friends in St. Elizabeth’s Hall. She
cherished her many friends that she made while there and all the fun they had on bingo nights,
poker nights and playing Mahjong. Her true loves, however, were her children and
grandchildren. She always had time for them and wanted to know how they were doing and all
their activities. She was an active member of her church, Perry Hall Baptist, and belonged to a bible study with friends that she cared for deeply. She was a kind, loving, fun, mom and grandmama and will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her sons, Guy Palmeri and his wife Melinda, Elkton, MD and grandchildren
Olivia, Collin and Mackie, her special angel; Christopher Palmeri and husband Shawn
Turkington, Edgewood, MD; Sisters Nancy Pantoulis of Baldwin, MD; Margaret Powers of Little
River, SC; Cecilia Cantrell of Glen Allen, VA and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Rinehart and Mary Rinehart, as well as her
brother Joseph (Joe) and brother-in-law Nicholas (Nick) Pantoulis.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday January 20th at Perry Hall Baptist Church, 3919 Schroeder Ave., Perry Hall, MD 21128. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 AM, with service beginning at 10:30 AM.
