Ellwood V. Warren, Jr. 
"Woodie"

October 29th, 1952 - March 8th, 2024

Ellwood V. Warren Jr. “ Woodie” passed away on March 8th, 2024.  He was born in Maryland to the late Ellwood V. Sr and Betty Louise Warren (nee, Meekins)

He is survived by his fiancé Karen Warden of Elkton, MD; sister Betty Joe Truslow of North East, MD; brother Jesse Warren of North East, MD.

Woodie retired from maintenance after 32 years with CCPS. He was an active member with the VFW in Northeast, Maryland, the legion and the VFW Post 475 in Newark, Delaware where he also served as a bartender. Woodie loved playing pool and was also on the Friday night shuffleboard league where he so enjoyed having fun with his friends. He loved joking and laughing with everyone and had a great sense of humor. Woodie liked doing yard work and playing with his fur baby buddy Harley. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast and loved cruising on his Harley with Karen and just enjoying each other's company. Woodie was a special kind of man with a heart of gold, he always made everyone's day so special. He had a bond with everyone who knew him and would help his friends when needed but most of all Woodie loved seeing his friends laughing and being happy. Woodie was a kind, loving, friendly and funny man who will be forever missed.  Until we meet again, fly free.

A benefit honoring Woodie will be held on April 19th, 2024, from 5PM- 10PM at the VFW Post 475, 100 Veterans Dr, Newark, DE, 19711. Tickets will be available soon, please check back for more information.

A celebration of life for Woodie will be held on march 29th, 2024 from 5PM- 9PM at the Newark VFW, 100 Veterans Lane, Newark, DE.
