Kelly Mitchel Henson

Kelly Mitchel Henson, passed away on June 26th, 2023. He was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on December 16th 1956 to the late James and Betty Henson (nee, Ramsey)
Kelly had a 32 year long career as a machinist for Du Hadaway Tool & Dye. He was an auxiliary member at the Newark VFW Post 475. Kelly was a man of many hobbies including going to the casino, spending time fishing and crabbing, keeping a well manicured yard, and talking to his neighbors and helping them whenever he could, even enjoying a beer together. Kelly treasured all of his family and friends and would often give them a hard time. He loved seeing the grandkids and would sometimes even become one of the kids while playing. Kelly had a big heart of gold and would be there for anyone who needed him. He was our miracle man and he will be missed forever.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Barbara M Henson (nee, Butler); sisters, Beth Langston Bishop and her husband Phil (Dover) Michelle Henson (Maryland); daughters, Dawn M. Anderson (nee, Trott of Florida), Tracy M. Trott-Prettyman (Wilmington), Christina L. Maillie (nee, Trott of Westchester), Tiffany H. Gilday (Wilmington); adopted daughter, Susan Sill Ceraso; grandchildren, Christopher M. Anderson (Wilmington), Lowell S. Sutton, III “Buck-A-Roo”, Ronnie Tambourelli, Diana Parker (nee Tambourelli of Wilmington); great grandchildren, Peyton, Abigail, Allison, Christopher Jr, Julius, and baby on the way.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his broth Robert "Bobby" Henson, granddaughter Jessica N. Morton (nee, Anderson), grandson Troy M. Kline, and great-granddaughter Hailey Morton.
A celebration of life will be held at the Newark VFW Post 475, on July 14th at 4:00PM, 100 Veterans Lane Newark, DE, 19711.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in his honor at his celebration to help his wife with finances.
